.::ROAD USER MONITORING ::.

In 2003, the Dublin Transportation Office (DTO) set up a Road User Monitoring Group, consisting of DTO, National Roads Authority and local authority representatives. The purpose of the Group is to monitor the performance of the DTO Strategy as it relates to road users.

This Group has produced a series of annual Road User Monitoring Reports since its inception. (2004 & 2005) The report for 2009 is now available to download.

The purpose of the report is to provide the DTO, and other transport agencies and local authorities in the Greater Dublin Area (GDA) with an overview of the findings to date, in relation to:

  • Trends in usage of road transport, including cars, goods vehicles, taxis, cycling and walking
  • Conditions currently experienced by road users in the GDA, including journey times and speeds
  • Facilities for road users, including car & cycle parking
  • Travel information
  • Pedestrian crossing facilities
  • Cycle lanes
  • Road Traffic Accident Casualties
  • Environmental Pollution attributable to road traffic
The Reports do not deal in detail with bus users or facilities. QBC Monitoring Reports are produced separately by the DTO on an annual basis for each QBC corridor.
