.::QUALITY BUS CORRIDOR MONITORING ::.

The Dublin Transportation Office assumed responsibility for Quality Bus Corridor monitoring in November 2002. Monitoring had previously been undertaken on a bi-annual basis by Dublin City Council.

Approval for carrying out the monitoring on an annual basis had been given at the March 2002 Steering Committee meeting.
Monitoring on an annual basis allows measurement of QBC performance both at a point in time, and over time.

The further development of an expanded Quality Bus Network is a key element of the DTO transport strategy as outlined in A Platform for Change.

Monitoring the performance of the Quality Bus Corridors in operation helps to measure the efficiency and effectiveness of the bus mode in the delivery of the transport objectives set out in the strategy.
