Model Inputs

The principal inputs for the model are:

Travel to work and school data from the Census
School Survey
Public Transport Surveys
Other CSO Data
Transport network data from Local Authorities and public transport providers

These are used to generate estimates of base year travel demands for the 666 zones in the DTO Model Area.

The travel demands are assigned to base year transport networks within the region. The base year model is validated against observed surveys of

Journey Times Surveys
Passenger Boarding Counts

Estimates of future year travel demand are based on forecasts of
