NEW QBCs INTRODUCED


ROCK ROAD QBC

New QBC introduced from Blackrock to the City Centre saving 50% on bus average journey time in the morning peak period.

SOUTH CLONDALKIN QBC

New QBC introduced from Adamstown to the City Centre.


MAIN FINDINGS FROM 2007

BUS JOURNEY TIMES

Bus average journey times in the morning peak period were less than the corresponding car journey times on 12 out of the 16 QBCs monitored.

MALAHIDE QBC

Average journey time saving of 15 minutes in the morning peak period 0700 to 1000 on the section from Coolock to Connolly Station. This follows the banning of the right turn movement from Malahide Road to Kilmore Road and associated works.

HOWTH ROAD QBC

Average journey time saving of 10 minutes in the morning peak period 0700 to 1000 on the section from Raheny to Connolly Station. This follows improvements to junction layouts.

LUCAN QBC
  1. Average journey time saving of 6 minutes in the morning peak period 0700 to 1000 on the section from Con Colbert Road to Bachelors Walk. This follows the extension of the bus lane on St John’s Road and the introduction of new bus lanes on the North Quays.
  2. Average journey time saving of 5 minutes in the morning peak period 0700 to 1000 on the section from Conyngham Road to Bachelors Walk. This follows the extension of the bus lane on Parkgate Street and the introduction of new bus lanes on the North Quays.
SWORDS QBC

Additional outbound bus lanes introduced between Drumcondra and Richmond Road and between Griffith Avenue and Collins Avenue.
